Detroit Man Who Walks 21 Miles To Work Receives Ford Taurus

February 9th, 2015

DetroitMansTaurusThe team at Borgman Ford was touched — like those worldwide who’d come across the viral social media grassroots campaign — by the story of James Robertson, the Detroit man who walks 21 miles to and from work every day and has been doing so for 10 years. In particular, we loved Robertson’s reaction when he received a new Ford Taurus after a GoFundMe campaign collected more than $300,000 to support the 56-year-old man with the undefeated attendance and work-ethic.

“The reason I picked the Taurus, I remember the old Taurus from the 1980s,” Robertson said. “They never were this fancy or anything, but like me they have a strong heart from the inside.”

Gotta love the guy. Kudos to Robertson, and the young Wayne State student, Evan Leedy, who started the crowd sourcing fund. It’s nice to see social media used to make a difference! Read or watch the full story at MyFoxDetroit.com.

Ford F-150 Rescues Stuck Semi in Snowbound Chicago

February 9th, 2015

Screen shot 2015-02-09 at 11.41.10 AMAt Borgman, we love the Ford F-150, and there’s little wonder why. It’s built to take the beating winter regularly dumps on the midwest! Alex Nunez wrote a great article for RoadandTrack.com after receiving video evidence of Ford F-150’s award-winning “toughness” after a Chicago snow storm. The F-150 Fx4 EcoBoost towed the semi “like a tugboat pulling a grounded aircraft carrier to open water.” We thought we’d share this testament to our tough-built favorite truck. Check it out here: http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/videos/a24916/video-ford-f-150-rescues-stuck-semi-in-snowbound-chicago/

Ford GT Unveiled

January 14th, 2015

FordGTAt the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, the all-new Ford GT Carbon Fiber Supercar drew attention with it’s striking exterior aerodynamics and it’s EcoBoost upgrade.

The GT is fit with innovations that set new standards for Ford performance: light-weighting, impeccable aerodynamics, and ultra-efficient EcoBoost are at the top of the list.

The lightweight carbon fiber construction provides a wide range of performance advantage including better acceleration, handling, braking, safety and efficiency. The new lightweight advanced composites will help set the stage for Ford’s entire product lineup moving forward. Because of carbon elements, the GT will have one of the best weight ratios of any production car.

“The GT is the ultimate execution of an enthusiast supercar,” said Raj Nair, Ford group vice president, Global Product Development. “GT includes innovations and technologies that can be applied broadly across Ford’s future product portfolio – another proof point that Ford continues raising the performance bar while ultimately improving vehicles for all of our customers.”

The aerodynamics of the car are seen externally by the deployable rear spoiler and sleek two-door coupe body shell. The design limits drag, yet aids downforce and stability. From its optimum tear-drop shape to its aircraft-inspired fuselage and visibility-enhancing curved windshield, every slope and shape is designed to minimize drag and optimize downforce. When propelled by the powerful EcoBoost production engine, which is twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 producing more than 600 horsepower, this vehicle is Ford’s most extreme offering.

The vehicle is infused with race-proven technology, fit for those looking for that ultra-high-performance supercar. Production for the GT will begin in 2016.
